Fire & Smoke Damage

After the fire, the cleanup starts.

Soot, smoke and the water used to fight a fire can all keep damaging your property. We help clean, deodorize and restore what can be saved.

Before you go back inside

  • Only enter once the fire department says the building is safe.
  • Avoid touching walls, furniture and fabrics — soot smears and spreads easily.
  • Don't run the HVAC system until it's been checked; it can circulate soot.
  • Don't use electrical appliances that were exposed to heat, smoke or water.
  • Contact your insurance company, then call us to plan next steps.

Three kinds of damage

Fire damage

Charred building materials and contents that may need to be removed before rebuilding can begin.

Smoke and soot

Residue travels well beyond the burned area, settling on walls, ceilings, cabinets and inside ductwork. Different fires leave different residues, and each needs the right cleaning method.

Water from firefighting

Hoses and sprinklers often leave rooms soaked. That water needs to be extracted and dried just like any other water damage.

Our restoration process

  • Inspection and documentation of the damage
  • Securing the property where needed (e.g. boarding openings, tarping)
  • Removal of debris and unsalvageable materials
  • Soot and smoke residue cleaning on surfaces and contents
  • Odor treatment
  • Repairs to return the space to use
